Monet Masterpieces

Room 2 are very proud of their waterlily paintings and so am I! They really studied lots of Monet's works. We were able to view them on the Smartboard which was a huge help to their motivation. Here are their finished works. Fabulous, if we do say so ourselves!!

Artists at Work

We have started work on our paintings that are inspired by Claude Monet's paintings of waterlilies. He had a lovely house and garden at Giverny near Paris. He created a flower garden and a water garden and they are still there for people to visit and enjoy.

Monet was an Impressionist painter and when he painted water he used slabs of colour to create the impression. We are trying to use slabs of colour too. We hope you will enjoy our finished works of art. Please come to our assembly on Friday the 24th to see them. Thank you.

Poetry on Fridays

Each week we have a poem to learn. That is the one we bring home on Friday. We practise it and we listen for the rhyming words and highlight them on our poem. We love to decorate our poems in our poetry books.

The Taieri River

Today we looked at pictures of the Taieri River. It is a meandering river. It starts up in the Lammerlaw Range and finishes at Taieri Mouth where it meets the sea.
